Wayne Martinez of Elgin, OK, recently told us about his '57 Fairlane 500: "I have owned the car for 10 years now and have done much of the restoration myself with the exception of the engine and paint. The car has a Ford 406 engine running a 3-2 setup by Holley, a 427 solid cam and lifters, Mallory electronic distributor, reworked heads, Jet-Hot custom headers, custom Griffin radiator, and a 3-inch exhaust by Flowmaster. The front has dropped spindels and disc brakes with sway bars front and back. Other modifications include a C6 transmission, a shift kit, a 2,400-stall converter, homemade traction bars, and a Trac-Loc 9-inch rearend with 3.70:1 gears. All the hood and trunk ornaments, outside mirrors, and the radio antenna have been removed along with the front bumper guards." Wow, this is one cool ride!
